Been running into a bit of a wall myself with the whole negotiation-with-suppliers thing. Seems like they've got us by the scruff, charging through the roof for consumables. Surely, some of you have figured out the secret sauce to get a better deal, right? Any strategies or tips to share on how to effectively negotiate with these suppliers? In my experience, building a strong relationship with your supplier can go a long way in negotiations. Start conversations on common ground, really take the time to understand their needs and constraints, and then aim for a win-win situation as much as possible. Having alternatives up your sleeve doesn't hurt either; it gives you stronger leverage and choices.

Honestly, it feels like these negotiations are more trouble than they're worth sometimes. And if you're dealing with a single-source supplier, forget about it - feels like you have zero leverage.
